Title: Beyond Love: How Oxytocin shapes the brain

Abstract: Oxytocin is a neuropeptide that has been understood to be involved in processes such as birth and lactation. Recently, it has also been implicated in many complex social behaviors, including love, trust, and social bonding. Now we are beginning to find evidence that oxytocin also plays a critical role in brain development and plasticity. Here I will discuss research showing how early exposure to oxytocin can influence both behavioral and brain organization later in life.
